🗣 English Support & Practical Notes
An English menu is available, and the restaurant appears accustomed to international visitors.

Ordering is relatively straightforward since the menu includes tempura rice bowls and set meals, making it easy for travelers to choose.
However, the lunch service is quite busy, and tables turn over quickly. This is a place for a satisfying meal rather than a long, relaxed lunch.
A Tempura Lunch Worth the Wait
Tempura Yukimura is a well-known tempura restaurant located between Onarimon and Shimbashi.

The restaurant has even been recognized in the Michelin Bib Gourmand, which highlights restaurants offering good quality food at reasonable prices.
Interestingly, I only learned about this recognition when researching the restaurant after my visit.
Kakiage and Tempura Set
For this visit we ordered:
- kakiage set meal (mixed seafood tempura fritter)
- tempura set meal

The kakiage in particular stood out.
Crispy on the outside, packed with shrimp, and topped with a sweet soy-based sauce.
Combined with a bowl of rice underneath, it creates a dangerously satisfying combination.
Crispy tempura
+
sweet-savory sauce
+
rice
An almost addictive harmony.
A Busy Lunch Scene
Lunch service here moves quickly.
Customers arrive, eat, and leave without lingering.
When our bowls were empty, we could already sense the subtle signal from the staff that it was time to make room for the next guests.
Stepping outside after paying, we immediately understood why.
A long line had already formed outside the restaurant.
For a lunch at this price point and quality, fast turnover is simply part of how the system works.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere is lively and energetic, similar to a classic Japanese set-meal restaurant.
The dining room includes both counter seating and tables, making it comfortable for solo diners or small groups.
It’s not a quiet fine-dining experience — but rather a busy and satisfying lunch spot.
When to Visit
The best strategy is to either:
- arrive before opening to be in the first seating
- come later in the lunch window
Even then, getting a seat sometimes depends on luck.
⭐ Final Thoughts
